ZTR has improved test technology of shunt reactors

High voltage modular system for the test of single- and three phase shunt reactors rated for voltage 110–750kV was put into operation in July at PJSC “Zaporozhtransformator”. Modular system is a part of test equipment intended for check of insulation quality of reactors with the measurements of partial discharge level.

Modular system has increased the quality of supply voltage during the test of reactor insulation with the partial discharge measurements. Modular system has also permitted to test interphase insulation of three phase reactors in accordance with the new requirements of standards.

Costs for purchase and commissioning of modular system set up USD 216.6 thousands. In the year 2011 total amount for modernization of test system set up USD 625 thousands.

«By means of high-current filters of bottom frequencies between test equipment and reactor to be tested at rated currents, we could achieve reduction of interference level more than by 10 times, – says Yuriy Litun, head of HVTW. –Thereby, problem as for reduction of interference level at partial discharge measurements in shunt reactor insulation has been resolved at ZTR; the labor capacity during set-up of the test circuit was decreased at the expense of ability to use transport system on the air cushion.”

Modular system is considered to be the system of insulation supports for voltage 800 and 300kV where filters of bottom frequencies and high voltage split busducts. System is developed by All-Russian Institute, group NPP “Diatrans” Ltd. (Moscow, RF) according to ZTR order. Results of verification tests in no-load modes and at shunt reactor test have confirmed correspondence of modular system to stated requirements.
